After the student has completed all of the KCTCS coursework, then the student takes the remainder of the coursework at U of L.

If the student has taken all of the KCTCS courses above (no substitutes and all courses taken online), then when the student enters U of L he/she will have the following courses left to take:

  1. Six hours of core Communication courses.
  2. Nine hours of elective Communication courses at the 300+ level.
  3. Six hours of elective Communication courses at the 400+ level.
  4. Six hours of 300+ Humanities or Natural Sciences courses.
  5. Eight hours of Spanish (U of L Spanish courses are 4 hours each)
  6. Three hours of quantitative analysis (usually JA 326, Soc 301 or Psych 301)
  7. Twelve hours of Social Science courses at the 300+ level

A student must also fulfill the following two requirements. The courses that fulfill these requirements usually fulfill one of the requirements above. That means that the following 12 hours are usually not additional hours. For example, a student might take Communication 323 (Magazine and Feature Writing) as one of the 300+ electives in Communication (number 2 above) and because Comm 323 is designated a writing intensive course, it would also count towards number 2 below.

  1. Six hours of cultural diversity courses.
  2. Six hours of writing intensive courses.
